I’m here to review the Chinese drama Meet Yourself. I’ve been watching Li Xian dramas for a while now. His partner in the 40-episode drama aired in 2023 is Liu Yifei.
Synopsis
Liu Yifei, known as Hong Dou in the drama, is a manager at a hotel. Due to her work-oriented life, she hasn’t even been able to go on vacation for three years. She lives in the same house with her best friend from university. After a while, her friend gets cancer and dies soon. After this point, Hong Dou starts to question her life and goes to a small boarding house in Yunnan to resign and find herself.
In this boarding house, she will make many friends who are struggling with the difficulties of life like her. One of them is Li Xian, known as Zhi Yao in the drama, who returned from the big city to develop his hometown and works with all his might.
Final Review – Meet Yourself
In the Meet Yourself c-drama, we are see people’s lives through some flashbacks. In the meantime, we question the flow of life with idyllic images. This drama is very planned and maybe that’s why I liked it. In these days when we try to keep up with everything but can’t, I took a step back and tried to find myself. Li Xian portrayed a very different type from his cool and charismatic self in the drama I watched before. A cheerful, emotional, optimistic and honest country boy. He graduated from university but didn’t lose his essence in the big city. I really liked this version of him.
It was also very nice to watch the lead couple fight with each other. It was nice to watch the boy’s excitement and sincerely wish that the relatively calm girl wouldn’t leave him. As you know, these Chinese dramas are much longer than Korean dramas. That’s why everything happens slowly. Therefore, it’s not for impatient viewers. The rest of the drama may not appeal to you and moreover, you may not have time. The flow of the series may be suitable for a calm girl like me, but it may not be suitable for you. Let me warn you in advance.
